Hotel De La Croisee

Service was exceptional, and breakfast was delicious. We were brought croissants at our table in the bright cellar downstairs. Our triple room was a good price and looked newly renovated, with air conditioning. The hotel was off our route, but the winding drive from the east was fun, and the little town is cute.

The owners were so welcoming and accommodating, and breakfast was generous and delicious, with fresh local offerings. Even though the city is off the beaten path, we found some fantastic restaurants there. The hotel is in a charming XIII century building, recently renovated throughout, and the rooms felt fresh, stylish, and extremely comfortable. I stayed just one night, and it was a wonderful surprise. A real hidden gem.

Sophie and her husband called ahead so dinner would be ready when we arrived, and they were incredibly gracious about our food preferences. They even made sure we could have our favorite breakfast foods the next morning. We felt genuinely looked after the whole time. The rooms are nicely appointed and very quiet, and they cool down or heat up quickly. We slept really well. The village outside Lyon is charming, with little paths alongside the nearby river for walking the kids, pets, or yourselves. I'd never written a Google review before, but the service here made me want to share. If I could, I'd give it 10 stars. Whether you're crossing the country or after a quiet village stay, this is a lovely place. The owners are kind, good people, and nothing seems to faze them.

The room was spotless, practical, and recently refurbished, and the owners were charming. We had a very nice dinner at the hotel, and breakfast was lovely too, with a good choice of local cheeses. We had a really nice overnight stay.
