We waited over 30 minutes and asked for service, but still couldn't order a drink or food. Everyone around us had been served, so we left. Wouldn't recommend it.

The place was packed with locals when I arrived, so I decided to eat there despite having nearly been put off by the recent bad reviews. Glad I gave it a chance. The food and service were amazing.

There's free parking, and the cafe sits across from the historic dungeon on a lovely square beside a park. The food is simple but tasty. It was very busy, so service took longer than usual, but the waiter still got around to every table and was amazing. No need to rush when you can sit back and enjoy the setting.

The food was great, but we felt uncomfortable and unwelcome all evening. We'd booked, yet they didn't seem to take that into account: we were seated by the cold door while walk-ins got better tables. My French isn't good, but I did try. I'd love to come back for the food, but I can't, sorry.

The atmosphere was nice, and the food was decent, though not gourmet. My wife hadn't realized her cognac selection wasn't on the regular menu, but they gave it to her without an extra charge. I asked for Calvados, but since this is Cognac country and they're proud of that, they didn't have any. Fair enough, I had a nice Cognac instead. I'd return if I'm in Pons again 😎.
