The house is peaceful, and the rooms stay pleasantly cool even in summer heat. They’re warm enough with the blanket on the bed, though bring a sweater because the rest of the house can feel chilly. Denise made the steep walk easier by offering us a ride down and back up after we’d rested from our morning hike. Thanks again! The Booking.com listing and photos are accurate. The room and bathroom could do with updating, but I slept well and was clean after showering. I’d stay again if I return to Pont d'Oully, and recommend it to hikers.

The garden and all its plants felt a little magical. Denise welcomed us warmly, and she's a lovely person. The sheets smelled so fresh, like they'd just been laundered.

You can bring your pets, and riders are welcome to bring their horses too, up to two horses per night. There's a lovely garden and space to pitch a tent for one or two nights.

The breakfast was very limited, and the place is expensive for what you get. It feels more like a stopover than a bed and breakfast, and it's 2.5km uphill from Pont d'Ouilly, which is a real difference if you're walking. The garden is neglected, and there was no welcome. We only met the owner at 9 pm, after reminding them twice. Other than the kitchen, everything is outdated and very damp. The bedroom heating trips the circuit breaker, and the shower room is ancient.
