The welcome was nice, and the old-fashioned room was comfortable. Breakfast was good too. Sleep was another story: the railway is very close, with trains going through all night. Each one set off a warning bell like an alarm clock, and the whole building shook from the noise. I also had no Wi-Fi coverage in my room.

We spent two nights here and found it absolutely lovely. The owners are charming and happy to share lots of useful tips. They also let us enjoy snacks and drinks on the castle terrace. Breakfast was fantastic.

We were cycling the ViaRhona from Lyon to Avignon and stopped here for a night. The views over the paddocks were beautiful, and our room had plenty of charm. The hosts were lovely and so helpful. Many thanks for such a wonderful stay. We loved Chambres d’Hotes et Gites le Domaine de Lamartine and will be back.

The owners were very pleasant and helpful. Their place has the feel of staying in a great aunt's home, with historic French bedrooms and loads more character than a standard, bland hotel. It was an interesting and pleasant place to stay.
