Aux Berges de Sambre

The coffee was decent, but breakfast was otherwise a letdown: no fresh food, bread that had been taken from the freezer the night before and was still cold inside, and croissants that seemed a day or two old. The property also felt dirty and poorly looked after, and there was no restaurant. The owner was friendly, though she seemed to have little interest in the business. I don't know what changed over the years. What a shame.

We enjoyed the walks beside the Sambre River, and it was handy to have access to a kettle during the day. Our room was comfortable, spotless, and well insulated, and breakfast was generous and had plenty of choice. The owner was attentive and made us feel very welcome. A short stay, but a delightful one. We'd recommend it.

The room was neat and warm, with comfortable beds, and we both slept really well. The setting is lovely and peaceful, and the hostel manager gave us a genuinely warm welcome. We came for a weekend with my boyfriend and were pleasantly surprised. We'd be happy to come back.

The room was thoughtfully organized and very pleasant, and we were welcomed warmly. Breakfasts were excellent, and the meal trays were both tasty and inventive. At night, though, the busy street was noisy if you opened the window in the room on that side. Traffic could also be heard overnight and early in the morning.
