Le Gite du Chemin Vert

The whole house was exceptionally clean and well equipped, with modern, carefully thought-out details. Even the kitchen knives were properly sharp, a small thing I appreciated after years of stays elsewhere. We had the spacious upstairs bedroom, with a large raised, comfortable bed and a huge bathroom. There’s air conditioning in every room, though the cool summer meant we didn’t need it. We also made good use of the beautifully kept garden and large heated pool when the weather wasn’t ideal for swimming. Nathalie greeted us on arrival. She speaks English, showed us around, explained everything, and suggested interesting places nearby. The house sits at the edge of town, and it was absolutely peaceful, with no road noise. It’s also well placed for the best-known Loire castles. There’s another bedroom and bathroom downstairs, which we didn’t use, plus a living room with a perfectly equipped kitchen. We found the accommodation comfortable, private, and far beyond what we expected. We’d love to return.
