It's a good base if you're happy being far from everything, up in the hills. Getting to the main road, petrol or shops takes a 30 minute drive on twisty mountain roads. The hosts are friendly and helpful, and invited us to share a meal with them once or twice. Privacy is limited, though, since the bedroom is the only private space. There are two large, boisterous dogs. They're friendly and harmless, but could overwhelm anyone who's nervous around dogs.

Lovely dogs and beautiful views of both sea and mountains. Marie-Do's is such a peaceful, cosy home, and a very charming place. I recommend it.

The Corsican mountains are wonderfully quiet, and although the gîte is just thirty minutes from the airport, it feels like a world away. There are lots of walks nearby, including ones connected to Resistance history. In this village, a Corsican resistance fighter was also condemned for supporting the Malagasy people's national liberation. Marie Dominique is a wonderful host, full of lovely qualities and happy to spend time with her guests. She speaks both languages fluently and used to be a pilot, so she can even give lessons. The living room and kitchen share a fireplace, the bedrooms upstairs are comfortable, and there's also a separate studio.

We came back to Corsica and stopped again in this charming village. It was lovely to rediscover the area with some hikes, then unwind in the garden. After a refreshing swim in the sea, just 30 minutes away along a road full of delightful surprises, the cool mountain air in the evening felt wonderful. And the breakfasts on the terrace were delicious, with Marie-Do always so attentive. Thanks for a dream stay in such a green setting. See you soon! I highly recommend it! 🫶👍
