The place was nice and the rates were reasonable, but I left worried about what happened to my brother's wallet. I can't be completely sure, though I'm 99% convinced it was only out of his possession at breakfast. Later that day, two credit cards were missing from it. We called the bank, and by 9 a.m. local time there were nearly $2,000 in online purchases. I had locked the door manually every time I left the room, including for breakfast, since it opened straight outdoors. The hotel uses old-fashioned keys, so there was no electronic record of the door opening. When I raised my concerns, the hotel dismissed them. Employees probably took things from the room while we were at breakfast.

The location made it an easy walk to the sea view, and breakfast was good. We enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and comfortable, just right for a quick overnight stop.

The pier is very close, and it was quiet there, with generally friendly people. Our room was nice and clean, but there wasn't a curtain for the bath or shower. The staff were friendly, though we need to improve our French because English wasn't well understood.

We couldn't get into the room until 4:30 p.m., and there wasn't enough parking for customers. The staff seemed unhappy. The bathroom had a rusty radiator and the decor looked shabby.

Port-en-Bessin-Huppain is a lovely little fishing village, worth a detour when traveling between Normandy and Paris. We stopped there for the night and managed to get a last-minute room at the Eisenhower. It's small, but worked well for what we needed, which was really just a bed for the night. It was clean and everything worked.
