The reception lady was lovely and welcoming, and she had a great selection of teas for breakfast. The rooms are small, though.

A very close bereavement meant we had to cancel our island trip the day before we were due to arrive. We'd booked two rooms for four adults with breakfast the week before, and weren't asking for our money back, only to move the booking. He said no and suggested giving the rooms to friends instead. That's not straightforward when our loved ones wanted to stay close to us. The complete lack of compassion from this businessman left a very poor impression of Île d'Yeu.

Our room faced the street, but it was surprisingly quiet. It had been renovated and was comfortable, if not especially big, with plenty of space to sleep. Housekeeping were attentive without disturbing us, and breakfast was delicious. The welcome and professional service felt worthy of a palace. Thanks for such a lovely stay.
