Le Chateau des Tilleuls

It's quite secluded, so you'll need a car to get anywhere. Still, the campsite has lots of amenities without feeling corporate. The pool is nice, and the breakfast they brought us was perfect.

There are lots of owls around, and the staff are friendly. The heated facilities are plentiful and there's a shop on site. We arrived late in the season, just after the bistro had closed, which was a shame. Maybe we'll time it better next time.

The touring pitches are generous, with water and drainage on site, and reception service is good. The sanitaires are adequate and kept clean, though some blocks close towards the end of the season. I've stayed here twice for three or four days each time, since it's a short drive from Calais. Walking the dog is still my biggest gripe: the only way out is onto a main road without a footpath, so I end up spending too much time walking around the statics that dominate the site. I changed my rating from 4 to 5 after management added an enclosed dog exercise area. After a day in the car, that's exactly what he needs to burn off energy, and I get a better night's sleep too. I'll be glad to come back next year.

The pitches are roomy, whether you're camping, caravanning, or in a motorhome, and each has water and waste facilities. Everything was spotless and pleasant, and the staff were helpful and spoke good English. 😊
