I’ve been living at ECLA for almost 2 years, and it’s been a great experience. It’s a good long-stay choice for students and working professionals, with a lively, diverse community where you can meet people from all over the world. Mr. George at reception and the current manager, Mrs , have both been kind and professional. They bring a sense of calm, are very helpful, and sort out problems promptly. ECLA has been better than I expected for comfort, facilities and community. Highly recommend it.

At check-in, the inventory marks everything as “clean,” and any dust is brushed off as minor because the room was supposedly prepared beforehand. But at check-out, the standard changes. Even after cleaning the room thoroughly myself, they inspected every corner, found a bit of dust and said extra cleaning was needed. I was charged over €30 for their cleaning service. It’s also hard to get a response after leaving. Replies during the stay could take 1-2 days, but after I asked about my deposit, they stopped answering. At the time I wrote this, it had been over 5 days without a reply. They respond to reviews by telling you to contact customer support, but don’t bother, support doesn’t respond either. The room and building condition don’t justify paying €820+ for a shared apartment. Stay clear if you want your deposit back. Proceed with caution.

The staff come across as though they really don’t want to deal with people. When the laundry machines don’t work, they give no notice, not an email or even a note on the laundry room door. They let you pay for nothing, then get annoyed if you ask when it’ll be fixed. Just three weeks ago, a staff member refused to hand over my delivery for no reason and told me to come back two days later. I’ve never seen such a lack of professionalism in a residence. They don’t help, say “it’s not my job,” and openly show attitude. It’s especially frustrating because you live here, and the people running the place day to day clearly don’t care about residents and can be openly disrespectful.

I can’t recommend ECLA Noisy-le-Grand based on my tenancy. For about four months, I was placed in a lower-standard room with shared toilet facilities, even though I’d paid for a studio with a private shower. This happened because my contracted accommodation wasn’t habitable when I arrived, due to mould in the room. Throughout that period I was charged the full rent for the more expensive original room. There was no written contract change, rent adjustment or refund, despite the downgrade. Management acknowledged the issue and discussed compensation and a possible rent reduction, but no reduction was ever applied. After I left, a substantial amount also appeared to have been taken from my security deposit, without advance notice or a clear explanation. I was moved into the room I’d originally contracted for in the fifth month, after delays and unresolved communication, and only once my educational institution and legal representatives got involved. After the tenancy ended, my deposit return took about five months. When it finally came, I received less than 20% of the original amount. The official exit inventory reported no damage, only linen cleaning and minor general calcification. That doesn’t reasonably justify a deduction of about €700. The way this was handled involved administrative errors, little contractual transparency and disproportionate deductions, leaving me with significant financial loss and stress. Based on my experience, prospective tenants should be cautious and get all agreements, compensation and deductions in writing.

I canceled the room I’d planned to stay in for three months, and I’m waiting for my money back. If they don’t return it, a lawyer will take action. I WANT MY MONEY BACK! I’m an exchange student and needed a room from September to December. Nicole, an Ecla employee, confirmed dates and a price of 770€/month for a room in a shared apartment. I paid everything and waited for the contract. When I needed to pay the GarantMe fee, they told me the rent was 870€ for 4 months. I emailed several times to explain that we’d discussed 770€, but got no reply until I called today. Nicole said, “Yeah, i see I will send you an email.” Then she sent dates that looked exactly the same but said I had to pay more than 3000€ in one transaction, with rent almost double for 3 months. I tried calling everyone at Ecla and spent 15 minutes trying to reach someone before anyone finally answered. I also sent Nicole several emails pointing out her mistake. Her reply was, “I already made a mistake by ending your contract on December 15th because if I take that into account, I'll have to have you sign a 1-to-3 contract, and you'll have to pay the full fees before you start.” Despite the awful reviews, I took a chance, and some employees’ communication is terrible. They keep changing the contract without your consent and asking for more and more money. Some employees lack credibility, communication and integrity. They’re trying to scam you, looking at your guarantor’s money and playing with you however they want. Don’t try it. If my contract had been for 4 months and nobody told me, but I left in December, my money would have been gone anyway, since they wouldn’t notify you.
