Le Chatelard - Gîte La Bergerie

George and his family gave us peace and quiet, and sometimes shared interesting stories from their lives. We visited as a couple in September 2022 and found them friendly and welcoming. The huge property has lots of room, several gites set well apart, a swimming pool, and really beautiful surroundings. It's a great area for nature walks and other active outings. Our gite, Jardin, was cozy and charming, though dated in places. Anyone looking for sleek, modern appliances and luxury may not find it a match. A manual wheelchair worked for much of the gite: ours was 66 cm wide and could reach the bedroom and bathroom. The toilet, up a step and without grab rails, needed some assistance, and the kitchen was accessible only after moving the refrigerator. We managed just fine.

We had a wonderful two-week stay at Gite "Jardin" during a heatwave, and the cottage stayed comfortable the whole time. It's a bit dated, but had everything we needed and more. The pool is large and inviting, and the host and his family were incredibly welcoming, with great tips for exploring.

We stayed in this gîte for peace and quiet while we were in the area for a wedding. The owner was excellent to deal with, very responsive and flexible about our requests, and the accommodation was functional. We really enjoyed our stay and have saved the address in case we return to this beautiful region we love. Excellent value for money.
