Hôtel Castell'Verde

Guests are disturbed by staff partying in their cabins until 3 in the morning, drinking and playing loud music. They're unprofessional and seem not to care, then are lazy and unhelpful at the front desk during the day. The value is terrible for what feels like a camping setup, with cramped bathrooms and decrepit rooms falling apart. And there are unwanted visitors everywhere: ants, mosquitoes, spiders, cockroaches, moths, beetles, to name a few. The hotel is rundown and out of date. I'd avoid it at all costs. There are so many nicer hotels in Corsica, don't waste your time or vacation here.

The best part was the location near the beach, with a great view of the lagoon. Moby Dick, a very good restaurant with a lagoon sea view, is about 10 minutes from the resort despite the bumpy, narrow drive. It's suggested for hotel half-board bookings. The resort feels managed at an industrial scale, and the service isn't tailored to guests as the website suggests. A checkout just a few minutes late cost €20 per hour. One of the two pools was closed for repairs throughout our four-day stay, leaving the other overcrowded and useless for relaxing. The resort's sidewalks had rubbish lying around and weren't cleaned. There's nowhere to hang wet swimwear or freshly washed laundry, a basic need at a beach hotel, especially on a longer trip with a baby or small children. Reception told us to use tumble dryers, which is a strange answer at a beach resort averaging +30°C. We also couldn't leave the old-fashioned room key and heavy chain at reception while away. They said unwanted staff might enter the room, which says a lot about the lack of trust. Overall, poor value for money.

We stopped for one night on the way north, but I could easily have stayed longer. The beach was great and within walking distance, though a bit farther away than ideal. The pool was nice and service friendly. A lovely place for a couple of nights, and I can recommend it.

A peaceful spot to unwind, whether you're reading by the pool or taking a quick dip in the ocean. The modern rooms are comfortable, and the secluded location gives you some quiet. La plage is only a 10-minute walk away. Service was quick and breakfast very good. Highly recommended.
