We weren’t sure about the small menu, especially since there wasn’t a vegetarian option, but we took a chance and had one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. The dishes were thoughtfully put together and delicious, even though some were unfamiliar to us. The waiter was on his own and did a great job, though service was a little slow. It was worth waiting for. Highly recommended.

Breakfast was a letdown: four of us got four croissants, a tiny bit of jam, and a few scraps of dried-out cheese. When we asked for yogurt or more bread, they said this small hotel-restaurant only had that much, even though the boulangerie is across the road. Tea and coffee supposedly weren’t on the menu until we insisted. At dinner, the children’s menu chicken breast was a little overcooked and arrived after we’d finished our main plates. The faux-filet and salmon were okay. We’d only stopped overnight on the drive from Italy back to Normandy.

A really disappointing meal, and far too expensive for such a bad experience. The owner was condescending and wouldn’t cook the steak well done. We agreed on medium, but it arrived rare. There was also a mix-up with guests at the neighboring table. The veal was very fatty and not nice. Our wine was forgotten despite a reminder, so we had to fetch it from the bar after we’d finished eating. The owner then offered a small bottle, but it was a different wine and not very nice. Fawlty Towers, without the comedy.

The cooking really stands out: excellent flavors, sauces, side dishes, and combinations. The €38 set menu lets you choose from three starters, three mains, and three desserts. If you’re unsure what to pick, just ask when ordering. There’s a warm welcome, plenty of space between tables, and the service is attentive, prompt, elegant, and delivered with humor and a touch of luxury. The team and chef clearly put care into the dishes. A wonderful place, absolutely top-notch. Special mention to the staff for impeccable service. Book ahead and give it a try!
