Nick and Kate are so kind and attentive, and their friendly welcome made our stay at Villa Lafabregue one of the highlights of our visits to Pyrenees Orientales. The place has a lovely character, with a peaceful setting close to the center and breathtaking views over Canigou. As a travel photographer, I’ve had the chance to stay at hundreds of properties, and this is one of the most charming and welcoming boutique hotels I’ve come across. Highly recommended.

Right in the heart of Prades, the house has an amazing view of mount Canigou. Kate and Nick were wonderful, and the service was impeccable, with plenty of amenities and complimentary drinks. The house and garden are lovely, and so is the swimming pool. I’d come back in a heartbeat.

I had a large bath and a well-equipped room, which was a lovely place to come back to during our very full five-day writing retreat in March 2025. The balcony looked out over snow-capped Canigou, and breakfast was generous. We were greeted warmly, and the garden was gorgeous. Highly recommended.

Our room was large and had all the comforts we needed, including a big bathroom with a spacious hot tub. The house has an old-fashioned style but has been renovated, and the garden is wonderful. We were about a five-minute walk from the town center, and our balcony looked toward Canigou mountain. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. A really nice place, and easy to recommend for a holiday.

Nick & Kate made sure we had everything we needed, from excellent accommodation and a delicious breakfast to answers to all our questions and tips on things to do and places to see. Six of us had a fantastic holiday at Villa Lafabregue, with relaxed meals and drinks, local cycling and walks, a market visit, sunbathing, and dips in the pool to cool down. It’s a great choice for a bed and breakfast or gite in the south of France, in Pyrenees Orientales. We’d rate it 10 out of 10 and will certainly be back next year.
