We spent New Year's here, and while it was a bit expensive, it was worth it for the village and ski slopes. The place stays open even when it's snowing. The resort felt different from other tourist ski spots, with mostly locals enjoying what was right on their doorstep at the time. We felt pretty hopeless skiing alongside all those pros.

The rooms were comfortable, and the team were especially kind, which felt like a refreshing change. Breakfast was simple but filling. I'd stay here again in either summer or winter.

The staff at Epicéa Lodge were really friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean and tidy. This small hotel sits on the edge of Pralognan-la-Vanoise beside a quiet campsite, so you get open views of the surrounding mountains. Prices were much better than at the larger hotels in Pralognan, and the food was good too. If you like a seriously big beef burger with Brie, try the tasty Savoyard burger.

Our holiday had to end early because of Corona, and the hotel let us cancel without a fee. We really appreciated that. It showed they cared about their guests.
