Maison Baxter

The garden at Maison Baxter has shaded spots with tables, chairs, and loungers, and the whole place is wonderfully quiet apart from the neighbors' rooster. From the top of the house, the views are spectacular. It's right by the town center, and although parking means walking a little, everything is close in such a small town. Our room for two had a kitchen and bathroom. It was small, but had more than enough for a few peaceful days, and the atmosphere was lovely. We stayed for three nights and wished we could have stayed longer. Patricia Baxter was a very kind hostess. We chatted a few times and felt completely at ease. Thanks for having us, Patricia 😊 I hope we can come back.

The welcome was warm, and the village is still as charming and picturesque as ever. Our room was pleasant, though the bathroom was very, very small. Getting up to the third floor means tackling steep stairs, but the terrace and magnificent view make the climb worthwhile. We had a very good stay.

We'd happily return, since there was still so much for us to do in this beautiful area. The studio had everything we needed and looked out over the garden, Fort Lagarde, and Canigou. It was a really relaxing weekend, with birds and a rooster as the only sounds. Madame Patricia and Monsieur Allan were lovely and kind. We had a few questions before arriving and got quick replies. Good thing they're English, as I don't speak any French. Just note that payment is cash only, with a €50 deposit that's returned on the last day.

The owner is a sweetheart, and the little town has a magical feel. Everything you might need is nearby, and the place itself is incredible, with so much history in its walls.
