The owners made us feel very welcome and patiently answered all our questions about the area. They’d clearly put a lot of care into the place, with a computer, books, and folders full of useful local information. We stayed one night in March 2014 while travelling through France, two adults and two children. Our family room was simple but comfortable, with bunk beds, a double bed, drawers, and hanging space. We were the only guests, so it was peaceful; even when full, the hostel and grounds seem to have plenty of room for a relaxed stay. Thanks for making us so welcome. (Sue, Gray, Kisha and Louis).

I felt at home straight away, and as a solo traveller I appreciated being able to book just for myself without feeling lonely. Peter and Tracy looked after me so well. The hostel is clean and comfortable, and a lovely place to unwind in the evenings after a busy day sightseeing. There’s plenty to do nearby too. Sidsmums is in a beautiful, unspoilt area that gives you a taste of a more traditional part of France, while still being close to Carcassonne and its sights. Places like this seem hard to find these days, and it’s great value for what you get. Peter and Tracy were wonderful hosts. I’d absolutely stay here again.

A great place to relax in nature, with wooden cabins, a kitchen and free WiFi. Tracy is really friendly, and there’s plenty to do on site, like ping pong, darts and barbecues, or you can just chill in the garden. We had a very nice stay in 8. It’s only 10 minutes from Carcassonne city centre.
