That first light over the mountains at 6:30 in the morning was something special. From Le Moulin d'Arcas, I found a lovely two-hour round-trip walk up a forest trail to a peak, and the old railway path, the 'voie verte', is only a 5-10 minute walk away for cycling or hiking along its 80km route. The mill sits beside a little river, among the owners' vegetable beds and fruit trees, and the whole place feels wonderfully peaceful. Luc and Anne Marie made us feel very welcome and saw to everything. Our room had stone walls and a rustic feel, with a really comfortable bed and a great shower. We also had a lovely dinner outside with the other guests as the sun set behind the high mountains around the valley. Breakfast the next morning had everything you could want.

Alison was so helpful and made us feel very well looked after. The bed was wonderfully comfortable, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. I'd recommend staying here.
