Hôtel des Princes

I’d happily come back. The rooms were elegant and comfortable, everything felt clean and well organized, and the welcome was warm. The service was excellent throughout, and I really enjoyed my stay.

The restaurant food and service were excellent. Our room at the Hotel des Princes was spacious, and the lake view was amazing. A wonderful stay.

The grounds are lovely, with greenery, benches, and comfortable corners to sit and unwind. Our room was tastefully decorated and clean, and the view over Lake Geneva and the mountains was beautiful. It’s a peaceful place with fresh air, and I’d love to return. We did have a small problem at check-in, but the owner was understanding and offered us a delicious breakfast to make up for it. The service and care really stood out.

The lake view was the one good thing about our stay. We were just passing through and spent one night here. I’m from Denmark, and my French isn’t great. The staff seemed annoyed by that, and we waited 10-15 minutes to be greeted when we arrived. They didn’t make us feel welcome. The carpet had a huge stain, and the sheets were stained and looked dirty. After dinner, we returned to find every parking spot occupied, and nobody offered an alternative. In the morning, we asked reception if we could sit by the water. They checked and told us breakfast was included, so we could take a plate and sit there. We didn’t take any food, just made a pot of tea. Then another employee asked for our room number and said breakfast wasn’t included after all, and it would cost 16€ per person. I understand someone made a mistake, but it was their mistake, and they should have honored what we’d been told. It felt completely unacceptable to be told this after we’d already made our tea. While we were sitting by the water, staff started blowing leaves right beside us. The noise made it impossible to stay. It was a very bad experience, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.
