Le Colombier

Having just one room in this B&B made for a calm, peaceful stay. The accommodation was spacious and air-conditioned, and the pool was lovely. Annie welcomed us warmly and gave excellent tips on nearby restaurants and places to visit. We had a great stay at the Dovecote. A big thank you!

The garden is magnificent, and the place was absolutely peaceful. The owners were charming and helpful while still giving us privacy. We really appreciated the clean apartment, quality linens, amenities, tasteful decor and air conditioning. The fresh-produce breakfast was lovely too. The “guest room” is actually a separate apartment beside the main house. Thanks as well for arranging a restaurant booking despite our late arrival.

Avoid this place. Our train was delayed, putting our arrival back by 30 minutes that evening, and the host refused to accommodate us or refund us. We ended up having to find a hotel at the last minute on a Friday night at 10 pm. Apparently the host was keen to go to bed and wasn’t bothered by the situation. We’ve stayed in guesthouses for the past 10 years and have never had anything like this happen. A terrible experience, and the host seemed to have forgotten the basics of hospitality and the flexibility you expect from a guesthouse. Unbelievable.

The welcome was very warm, and breakfast was brought right to our accommodation. The price was very reasonable, so don’t hesitate to go. We had a lovely stay, short as it was. The former barn has been renovated beautifully and decorated with great taste. It’s also very peaceful, helped by being a little way out from Villeneuve.
