COMO Le Montrachet

We arrived after a long day of travel with our infant daughter, and the restaurant kindly made an age-appropriate meal for her and brought it up to our room. The care and service went beyond what we’d expect even at a Michelin-starred restaurant. If that isn’t Michelin-level hospitality, I don’t know what is.

The AC and TV both didn’t work, and the rooms weren’t clean, with insects everywhere. The design is okay, but service is nonexistent. This hotel could be so much more than it is.

The restaurant and bar were closed on the evenings of Nov 23 and Nov 24, even though the website says they’re open daily. That’s unacceptable when the place is so far from anywhere else. I couldn’t walk out to get a drink, and there wasn’t a taxi available either. I’ll never come back.

We spent two nights at COMO on our honeymoon last week and had a lovely time. The food was delicious throughout, including lunch on check-in day, and the half-board package worked well. They were even happy to let us swap menu options if we didn’t like something. The wine list is huge, with choices for all budgets and some great regional wines by the glass. Every staff member was friendly and attentive. Our room was spectacular, with thought put into every design detail. The toilet roll holder wobbles and needs to be fixed down, but that’s a tiny issue. I’m glad they’re building a pool, which would make the hotel perfect. I’d definitely return next time I’m in France.
