ibis budget Saint Martin de Crau Porte de Camargue

I’ve stayed with Ibis for years, but this experience has made me unlikely to choose the chain again. I arrived at 2 a.m. to find a room that was completely unsuitable: rubbish on the floor, empty wine bottles, no towels, unmade beds, and linens that hadn’t been changed. It clearly hadn’t been cleaned after the previous guests. At reception, I was told there were no other rooms and nothing could be done. The only choices offered were to stay there or find another hotel. I ended up booking in another city and never stayed in the room, but they still refused to refund me or return my €100 deposit. Seriously, I didn’t even use the room.

We just needed somewhere simple to rest after a few days riding toward the Croatia Harley Davidson event, so the bunk-bed style place worked perfectly. Having a Mc Donalds nearby was ideal for us. Couldn’t have suited us better, eheheheheh.

We chose it because it’s close to our company, and the rooms are basic and affordable. There’s a bar and restaurant downstairs, plus board games and cards in the lobby. Parking is plentiful, and there’s a charger for electric cars. A gas station, restaurants, McDonalds, and the highway are nearby, and the staff speak English. Breakfast was good on most days, though on the third day of our five-day stay there was no food left when we arrived. It’s a basic breakfast, with no scrambled eggs.

For the price, this is good quality. It was my second night in a row at an ibis, so I could compare. This one is in a new building, feels clean and modern, and doesn’t have a cramped room. The upper bed was comfortable even for an adult who’s 1.90m tall. The bathroom was fresh and clean, with good ventilation. Breakfast was pretty modest, which is normal for budget hotels like ibis. There’s plenty of parking, and McDonald is just 50m away.
