The wooded setting was lovely, and having a private terrace for each room gave us a quiet spot to relax. The rooms were spotless and recently updated, with a nice mix of modern comfort and traditional character. We hadn’t booked ahead and only gave 30 minutes’ notice, but they still had everything ready. Hot water never ran out, even after days exploring the countryside. Our hosts made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. Breakfast was a generous spread of fresh bread, local cheese and cured meats, and they happily brought extra coffee when we asked. We especially enjoyed chatting with them and hearing their stories. We had a wonderful stay at this chambre d'hôte in the Lot and can’t wait to return.

We only found Domaine du Cardou by accident, and immediately wished we’d planned to stay for our whole holiday. Our dinner and breakfasts were brought out to our private patio, and both were just right. The rooms were spotless and comfortable, the grounds were beautiful, and nothing seemed too much trouble. The owners were funny, engaging and wonderfully welcoming, even greeting us with their own knock-your-socks-off welcome cocktail.

Marie and Pierre were incredibly kind when my wife fell ill, and I don’t know what we would have done without their help. They made our holiday so enjoyable. The apartment was beautifully appointed and set among the trees, with walks nearby and restaurants and supermarkets easy to reach.

The Ambre room was new to us, as we had the privilege of being its first guests. We got the same perfect welcome as on our previous visits, and Marie and Pierre were there as always to make the stay memorable. Excellent service.
