The hostess has real warmth and courage, and she's someone I'm glad I got to meet. Her cottage sits high above a lovely valley, with a beautiful view and a garden that's clearly cared for, even down to the hens. It's full of local character and stories, and the homemade specialties are delicious. A lovely place to stay, and a great base for walking around and exploring Auvergne.

The breakfast is unbelievably good, and the hostess knows the area so well that she has plenty of excursion tips to share. Marraine's feels like a visit with a dear, cheerful godmother, in a fairytale house full of charming furnishings. You get the real Auvergne countryside here, with magnificent views and even the cowbells and milking machine from the neighboring farm.

The communal meals were excellent, homemade in every detail, and everyone felt so at ease together. Our hostess welcomed us with real warmth and sincerity, so it was easy to feel at home. The thatched cottage is tucked out in the countryside, like a little museum, with a stunning view. That's just what I want from a bed and breakfast.

I had such a lovely stay and would really like to come back for longer to explore this beautiful part of the Cantal region. My godmother gave me an exceptional welcome, took me to buy some delicious Salers cheese, and we had lunch together at a lovely little inn. Breakfast was delicious, with absolutely everything homemade.

We had a wonderful time. The rooms were very clean, and our hostess was happy to accommodate our requests. The house is lovely and traditional, and we really enjoyed the truffade, one of the best we've ever had 😋. Breakfast was generous and all-you-can-eat. We'll definitely be back 😊
