We first stayed with Brigitte and Patrick at the lovely Clos de la Garenne 16 years ago. After we retired, we wanted our family to know the place too, so we came back for six nights with our daughter and her family. The delicious food, Brigitte and Patrick's helpful advice, and their constant good humor made this visit in such a beautiful part of France a memory all of us will cherish. The lunch was absolutely delicious, and the location near Surgères is superb. Brigitte and Patrick gave us such a warm welcome and were incredibly friendly. We had a wonderful stay at Clos de la Garenne. Thanks for a lovely experience!

The real highlight at Clos de la Garenne is Brigitte and Patrick. They're exceptionally kind and attentive to guests, while still giving them space. The cottage and its large grounds are wonderfully peaceful. We also found the facilities perfect, from the shaded tables and hammocks under the old trees to the laundry room and electric vehicle charging station. It's well placed near Surgères, with quick access to La Rochelle, Rochefort, and other destinations.

We always hate leaving for Italy, and by then we're already thinking about coming back the next year. We've spent part of our holidays with Brigitte and Patrick for many years, drawn by both the lovely home and the Charente-Maritime area, as well as the hosts' kindness. The house is beautiful, tastefully furnished, and carefully maintained. It's so relaxing in their park with Excel, and we love the evenings at the table d'hôtes. Brigitte and Patrick make everyone feel comfortable with their warmth. And Brigitte is a wonderful cook, especially the Galette Charenteise!
