Hotel du Nord - Restaurant le Saint Georges

We hadn't booked after a long drive, but even with the restaurant busy, we had a table within about ten minutes. Dinner was great: tasty food in generous portions, and the menu from starter through dessert was around 35 EUR. The building feels a little old, but it's full of charm, and the staff were lovely with excellent service. We didn't stay at the hotel, but I'll remember the town. It's a quiet spot on the main square in the Morvan regional park, far from the usual tourist places, where everything seems to move slowly. Plane trees, a church, a bar/tabac, a war memorial and the hotel/restaurant give the square its character. It was a relaxing place to stop.

One thing to know: the hotel is right beside the church, so the bells start at 7am and ring every half hour. That didn't bother us. The staff were helpful and very friendly, and they made room for all our cycling holiday requests, including storage and space to work on the bikes. Our room was clean and pleasant, the bathroom worked well, and both breakfast and dinner are worth trying. It's a great little hotel right in the center of Quarrė-les-Tombes.

We had a lovely Easter weekend stay. Emilie and her father at the sister hotel Auberge de l'Atre were incredibly friendly and helpful. We ate dinner there both nights.
