Our host made us feel so welcome and was wonderfully hospitable. Popotte et Polochon is a unique, welcoming place, and we had a very good experience there.

The welcome was warm, and there’s plenty of room for a few days with friends or a romantic break. It’s a beautifully renovated former parish enclosure, right by the canal, and has a lovely feel to it.

The pool is a big part of the appeal, but its hours make it hard to use: 4 pm to 7 pm and after 10 am. That’s inconvenient if you’re hiking or cycling nearby along the canal. It closes just before you arrive and opens again just after you leave! We also found the welcome rather cold and unfriendly. This is one of the very few B&Bs in the area we left disappointed by.

We stayed in one of the apartments and found it very good value for money, with a warm welcome. The pool stays at 30 degrees Celsius and is open year-round, with a depth of 1.60m throughout. It had everything we needed for a short family weekend.

We had breakfast with our host, who was very friendly. The guesthouse is lovely, and our cozy mezzanine room let us appreciate the character and high ceilings of this beautiful building. What a surprising place. I highly recommend it!
