Terres de France - Appart'Hotel Quimper

There’s a small cooking area in the room, as you’d expect in an aparthotel, and it’s well equipped. The downside is that there’s hardly anywhere to sit and eat comfortably.

After meetings and a 1,000 km drive, getting into the parking and then my room was the worst experience I’ve had in France so far. The reception was closed. Apparently, I’d been sent a long email in French explaining how to enter the hotel and open a safe containing an envelope with my name, my key and my room number. I couldn’t make sense of the instructions. This place isn’t suitable for a business trip. I also don’t expect to have to clean my own rubbish bin after one night, especially with extra cleaning charges apparently possible otherwise. The room wasn’t very clean either.

The hotel is close to all the sights and amenities. We stayed five nights in a one-bedroom apartment that was very spacious, though it had only the most basic essentials. Some of the kitchen utensils could have used a thorough clean.

Breakfast at 7:45 was just a few baguettes and cheese, nothing else. Our room faced a very noisy street: garbage collectors made a lot of noise from 5 a.m., and at 10 p.m. a loud alarm started ringing, from a car or something, I’m not sure. Nobody was at reception, so we called the hotel number for help, but it didn’t work.
