Hôtel de la Plage

We tried the restaurant one evening, and the food was really terrible. The fish seemed clearly frozen and packeted. When we complained, the chef claimed he'd prepared it earlier and had to freeze it, which we thought was a complete lie. After we said the frozen fish tasted terrible and wasn't fairly priced, they refused to lower the bill and called the police. It felt like a total tourist trap. Best avoided unless you're desperate to be ripped off.

We only ate at the restaurant, where everything was extremely clean. The food was very good, the service excellent, and the staff friendly and welcoming. We'll be back soon.

The place was clean and close to the beach, but that's the only good I can say about this hotel. They quoted us one price when we booked, then charged double at checkout. We were a group, and on our third day, while we were out, they moved one person's belongings from their room into another room without asking or telling us. They put us in the expensive rooms and billed those rates instead of the agreed per-person price. I also overheard them tell another guest arriving late that the charge would be 15€ per person. She had him confirm it three times. They had told us the same, then charged us the expensive rate listed outside the building. Checkout took an hour. They wouldn't come to check us out until we finally had to leave. We missed our first destination and had to change the day's schedule, even though it wasn't an early checkout. One room also had no clean towels for a day, so its occupants had none at all. Plan to shower standing right next to the toilet. I could go on. Find somewhere else and save yourself the headache. Three nights here cost us as much as a whole week in a much nicer Paris hotel.

On top of the poor service, the bathrooms had no doors, and partway through our stay they removed all our belongings and put them in another room without warning. The price was a classic bait and switch. For weeks I asked several times for written confirmation of the prices we'd agreed on, but the hotel never sent anything. At checkout, they nearly doubled the amount because it was tourist season. When I reminded them of the price quoted over the phone, they said they'd forgotten it, forgotten to check the emails, and forgotten to send the confirmation. These are charlatans.
