B&B Hotel Berck-sur-Mer Rang-du-Fliers

Quiet, clean, and the staff were lovely. One of the better places in this chain.

The room was warm when we arrived and the bed was comfortable. I stayed two nights with my daughter, who'll soon be two, and the last night the people across the hall kept slamming their door. The hallway needs better soundproofing. Thankfully, my daughter had just fallen asleep after 8 PM and didn't wake up. Check-in was a hassle at first. I'd checked in online but never got the email with the code, and when I contacted the receptionist he couldn't find me. The last message said the code might arrive any time from 2 PM to 11 PM, which wasn't a wait I could manage with a young child. We eventually got it sorted out. Apart from that, the stay was fine.

The room was a nightmare to use, especially the bathroom. It's a tiny prefabricated cubicle with a sink, toilet and shower, all with taps in very poor condition. There isn't a mixer tap, and getting the shower to a decent temperature takes several tries. The shower curtain keeps falling, there's hardly room to move, and you have to run the sink's cold tap for ages before the water gets cold. So much for the advice to conserve water. The room itself is very small, with nowhere to store things and not enough space to open a suitcase. The price is far too high for a room like this. The staff, at least, were pleasant.

The bedding was comfortable, everything was impeccably clean, and the heating worked perfectly. Reception staff were courteous, professional and attentive. SFR and Orange 5G also worked well on-site, despite what some earlier reviews said. I booked a standard room with a double bed and bathroom for one night on a trip. It was small but not uncomfortable, though the bathroom is very cramped, so be prepared for that. The bed sits unusually low, the toilet is noisy, and the TV is tiny. You can hear people walking and talking in the hallway, but the neighboring rooms stayed quiet during my visit. It works for a short stay if the limits on space and comfort suit you.
