La Garenne

We especially enjoyed visiting Beaulieu and Salers the next day, thanks to Regine's helpful itinerary suggestions. During our road trip through the south of France, we stayed at her lovely house and garden overlooking the valleys of the Garenne. She greeted us herself and explained how to make the most of our stay, including pointing us toward a great nearby restaurant. It gets its ingredients, especially duck and lamb, from a farm it runs on the same parcel of land. Breakfast was generous and tasty, with nut cake, spreads and yoghurts. Regine was attentive and warm, and it was clear she enjoys welcoming people and sharing the wonders of her region.

Regine was so thoughtful and helpful, with ideas for unusual places to visit and restaurants to try. We had a memorable five nights here. The room matched its description, was spotless, and had wonderfully comfortable bedding, plus its own bathroom. The house is magnificent and tastefully decorated, with a calm feel throughout. From the pool, the Lot River view shifts with the weather each day. Breakfast was delicious and generous too. A real peaceful retreat, and somewhere we'd wholeheartedly recommend.

It felt so peaceful among the valleys, with an incredible view and a really serene atmosphere. The rooms were comfortable, our host was friendly, and we were warmly welcomed. Her recommendations were excellent. I'd definitely recommend staying here.
