Radisson Hotel Reims

The room was very clean, the double bed comfortable, and the shower was good. We also liked the location, within half a mile of both the Old Town and the train station. Staff were friendly and quick to help. When the downstairs bar turned out to be closed, even though the website says it’s always open, the receptionist still poured my wife and me complimentary glasses of champagne. The system was down, so that was especially thoughtful. We didn’t eat at the restaurant, but its menu looked good and reasonably priced. Still, the four-star rating left me wondering. Our standard room was tiny and warm, with no fridge or closet, just a little clothes rack and a few hangers by the coffee machine. There was no guide to the hotel or room amenities. The window wouldn’t open, and the digital thermostat wouldn’t turn on the AC because our unit hadn’t been activated. I called reception, they sorted it out quickly, and cool air came through about 15 minutes later. We had an all right stay, but next time we’ll spend extra for a superior room or junior suite.

We enjoyed the rooftop views across Reims, and the nearby car park was easy to use, just a short walk away. The bar was comfortable and a nice place to unwind after exploring the Champagne region. The Radisson in Reims is in a lovely building, with a stylish, welcoming feel. There was plenty to choose from at the hot and cold buffet. Evening meals were good too, at around €20 and well-priced. A comfortable stay with good food and a great city view.

The name of the hotel was hard to spot, and our GPS dropped us a block away, so finding it was difficult. The rooms could use small refrigerators and drawers for clothes. Restaurant service wasn’t great, though the food was good. The two women from Peru at the front desk were extremely kind and helpful. The location was good.

We came as a group of 20 for a champagne weekend celebration. The location was fabulous and the staff and service were lovely. Breakfast was great, with a really good range of food.
