Campanile Rennes Atalante

It’s handy for the University, and the bus makes it easy to reach from the city center, though otherwise it feels a bit out of the way. The rooms are up to Campanile standard, meaning excellent quality, but they are small if that matters to you. Breakfast is still quite decent, though it’s not as good as before, with less fresh fruit.

The room was pleasant, clean, and the food was lovely. Staff were very helpful too. I stayed because my daughter was settling in at the University for her Erasmus year. I’d recommend it, though there are a lot of stairs and the banister felt a little shaky.

The croissants were the best I’ve ever had, and breakfast was otherwise okay, though the cheese and sausage options weren’t great. The staff were friendly, and it was a quiet place. It’s quite far from the city center, and there was no fridge in the room.

If you’re at the university campus, the location is excellent. The hotel itself is small and cute, but uphill, so don’t underestimate those slopes. There’s limited parking, although it looked like people could park on the street just about anywhere. Breakfast can be inside or out on the tiny terrace if you’re feeling brave. They had croissants, chocolate cookies, fruit, and yogurt, but no vegetables, so I’d eat those elsewhere. Wi-Fi is free, and you get what you pay for.
