Aparthotel Adagio Access Rennes Centre

The rooms were nice and the service was good while I stayed here with my family for a few days. The Wi-Fi, though, was awful. I had to work remotely and it rarely got above two bars, sometimes dropping to one. Even loading a YouTube video took ages. I ended up relying on my mobile connection, which also had poor reception in the hotel. Not my best experience with Wi-Fi.

The employees were all right, but the room itself was frustrating. The ventilation was horrible and the kitchen was barely usable. At 3500€/month, we were still expected to take out our own rubbish from those comically tiny bins. The ceiling light kept flickering even after they changed the bulb, so the fixture itself seemed to be the problem.

The rooms next door were pretty loud, and the price felt a bit high because of an exhibition in town, with all the hotels sold out. The breakfast is still something I haven't tried. The hotel is right in Rennes' old city, in a handy spot for downtown. The room was clean and tidy, though not luxurious, and the bed was quite hard. Everything I tried worked and was at an okay standard.

Breakfast was pretty modest, with only a few choices. Sometimes there'd be just one pancake or only three slices of ham. The staff were friendly and helpful the whole time. The kitchen was surprisingly well stocked, and having two wardrobes was handy. The apartment was clean, even if it wasn't new, and the shower tap looked like it might have been recently upgraded. Four of us with luggage found it a bit cramped, though we were mostly there to sleep, and our bags were lost for much of the stay :P. The bed was comfortable, but the sofa wasn't good for sitting or sleeping, and its cushions kept sliding around. A simple, clean place to stay if you're not expecting too much.
