The location was the only good thing about this hotel. If Google allowed zero stars, that’s what I’d give it. I’m shocked it has four stars, because to me it doesn’t deserve any. The shower was bad, with no curtain, so the whole bathroom got wet when we used it. The room was dirty: we wiped some water off the floor with a tissue, and it came away completely black, like nobody had vacuumed. Lights were missing and the whole place was too dark. The parking entrance was messy, with old furniture and other things left around, and it wasn’t kept clean. The entrance from outside to the parking, and the entrance from the parking to the elevator, both have broken key card locks. They told us the lock worked, but it had actually been broken for a while and nobody had fixed it. That means anyone can get into the hotel from outside. No security!

The spa made a lovely break in the middle of our time exploring Rennes. We had the private pool and sauna, then a couples massage. Such a blissful treat! LeCoq-Gadby Hôtel & Spa is a unique boutique hotel tucked into town, with an exceptional setting. From the moment we turned into the driveway, our hosts made us feel welcome, and that generous atmosphere continued throughout our stay. The reception area had a rich selection of interesting books and games, with flowering plants, peaceful greenery and adjoining decks outside. The furnishings are eclectic, and each guest room has its own style. There was plenty within easy reach, including old town sights and restaurants, a city park for a nature walk, a grocery store and even a laundromat. Our hosts were lovely, patient and responsive to our questions and concerns, even with our limited French. Merci!

A quirky, nice hotel with pleasant staff, but it was very hard to find and there weren’t many food options. The location was poor, so I won’t be back.

The rooms are stylish and beautiful, and this is the best hotel I've stayed at in Brittany. I'd happily come back.

It looks more impressive than it delivers, at least for me.
