Kyriad Rennes Nord

I've stayed here a few times when visiting Rennes and will use it again. It's in a quiet location and excellent value. There's no coffee in the room, but downstairs there's a free machine you can use as much as you like. The staff are friendly, though their English is limited and my French is too, which made for some funny moments.

It's a very convenient spot if you're traveling and want to stay out of downtown, and parking is easy. The bedroom was clean and small, and breakfast was great.

We stayed a few nights while traveling and found this a good budget option. It's easy to reach by car, with free parking outside, and the area is quiet despite being near the motorway around Rennes. The rooms were clean and mostly quiet, though ours was near the stairs and we could hear people going to and from reception. The staff were welcoming, but spoke little English.

The room was unbearably hot, and there was no way to cool it down. The listing said there was A/C, but there were no vents, and the front desk said the whole building shared one thermostat before wishing us good night and walking off. The windows barely opened, so it was a miserable night. The bed was rock hard, and the red carpet smelled damp, dusty, and old. The shower head was low and detachable, so I had to hold it up to shower and put it back afterward. There was no soap or other amenities, either. Check-in was just as bad: the man was extremely rude, gave us no directions, and walked away as soon as he was done. We had to find the room ourselves. It's cheap, but the hassle isn't worth it.
