The room was tiny and gloomy, and the bed lights didn’t work, so it felt even darker. There’s no AC, which makes me wonder how manageable it is when it’s hot outside. Breakfast was very limited, and the food wasn’t reliably replenished, so you had to take whatever was left. The hotel sits in a desolate area with a huge supermarket nearby. It shares the building and reception area with a Campanile hotel from the same chain. One plus is the Navibus N1 ferry nearby, which connects to the tram into central Nantes for just € 1,80 on a one-hour ticket.
We only spent about seven hours here, mostly sleeping, then took an Uber to the airport in the morning for around £15. The location was handy, with the boat stop about a six-minute walk away. On weekends, boats and buses in Nantes are free. Still, I wouldn’t recommend this for younger children. There were three of us. The lower double bed was large enough for all of us, but the top bunk was so close to the ceiling you couldn’t sit upright, and getting up was awkward enough to cause neck pain. The toilet was usable but extremely small. There was no kettle or other amenities, just toilet roll. Our room smelled strongly of cigarettes. There was an ashtray outside and marks left by previous guests smoking in the room, which was grim. It’s a room where you get what you pay for, and the stay was okay apart from that smell. You might find a proper airport hotel for a similar price.
There’s a 24/7 reception, which was a real plus, and breakfast is available for 5,9€ per adult. The room was large enough for one person, but it was dirty and had no heating. For the same money, you could get a much better room at the airport hotel if you just need somewhere to spend the night. Walking from here to the airport takes 1 hour and 11 minutes, or it’s 13 minutes by Bolt and costs 12,3€.
The room was extremely small. I’d booked a single, but got a bunk bed plus another bed, and there wasn’t even a picture of it online. The bathroom was like one in a campervan, with a step up and the toilet and shower almost on top of each other. Little lights came on when you switched off the main light to help find the switch, but they were far too bright for sleeping. Breakfast was available, though even the staff suggested going to the breakfast at the hotel next door. That turned out to be the best part of the stay. The two hotels are in one building. The Wi-Fi was broken, and we only heard about that after asking, just as with the other information. The location is close to the airport. The river is also within walking distance, with a ferry to the city centre and riverside restaurants and bars.
The beds were really comfortable, and although the rooms were tiny, they were great. The nearby waterfront was a nice spot to grab a beer. It’s okay for a one-star place, but breakfast needs work. Bread and jam alone don’t make much of a breakfast.
