The room was uncomfortably hot and smelled a bit, so we had to open the window. Bar customers were out on the street side terrace talking and singing with hotel staff past midnight. Even after we let staff know we were trying to sleep and they asked the customers to go inside, the noise carried on for a while.

The Tourist Office at Quimperle was very kind and professional, and arranged for us to view what they said was the area's only vacant room during the height of the season. We arrived about half an hour later and, to our surprise, the staff seemed greatly distressed to see us, running up and down without any apparent reason. It turned out their boss had given the room to someone else. As a foreigner, that kind of behavior changes how I feel about giving business to a host country that boasts of being the world's tourist leader. I won't draw a final conclusion yet, but I strongly urge you NEVER EVER to book in this hotel.
