The food and service were the best I've had at any of the VTF places I've visited. The setting is pleasant too, right by a lovely river, and the ocean is about a 20-minute drive away. The rooms are nicely decorated, but connectivity is a real problem: there was no Wi-Fi, 3G, or mobile signal at all. The lobby Wi-Fi was poor as well, unless you happened to be there around midnight.

A very simple place to stay, but we enjoyed it. It worked well as a base for walks and exploring the area.

The Bellon banks and the nearby hikes are lovely, and Ker Belen is a village where it's easy to feel at home. But it was the team that made the stay: such a warm welcome, a great atmosphere, and really good meals. Highly recommend it. James (aka the great Xavier 😉)

The site was overbooked, and poor coordination between the sales team and the resort over how many rooms were needed and who would get them left the kitchens overloaded. The staff did their best, though, and were consistently welcoming and available.

The activities were the bright spot. The entertainment team did a great job with both adults and kids, and the outdoor sports facilities gave the children plenty to do. Thanks for putting so much care into that part of our stay. The accommodation was much less satisfying. There was no TV, the decor felt dated, and the heating was blasting. The towels were nicely presented, but the sheets were old, scratchy, and pilled. The staircase up to the children's rooms was very steep and had no light. I reported the bulb on Sunday and followed up with the technician on Wednesday, but it still wasn't replaced. That felt risky with 8-year-olds getting up at night. We ended up leaving a light on downstairs, which wasn't great for the planet. I had downloaded the app to help plan our week, but it was empty. When I raised it with the manager on arrival, she said she hadn't had time to fill it in and that everything was posted on site. Breakfast was supposed to run until 10, but for a decent choice you needed to arrive right at 9. The baguettes were industrial, even though there's a local bakery just 400 meters from the village. That's a shame for a company that says it supports local producers. At 9, staff were also sitting down to eat among the last guests. The buffet dishes had no descriptions, so you had no idea what was in front of you. Lunch and dinner followed much the same pattern: an unlabeled starter buffet, one main dish, and unlimited pasta if you didn't like it. The main courses felt like cafeteria food, with no seasoning, little flavor, and an unappealing look. Lunch never included cheese, though there was yogurt, compote, fruit, and sometimes a tart. In the evenings there was cheese, at least. 😋 The jacuzzi hadn't been cleaned during our last week of October visit. The overflow grates were covered in green algae, and I wish I'd taken a photo. The sauna worked on the first day. Wi-Fi was limited to reception and the restaurant, and even reception's signal was weak. In 2025, there were still places with no network coverage. The website should make that limitation much clearer, especially for families trying to keep several children occupied in the rain. If you wanted a drink after dinner, you had to hurry. The bar shut at 9 pm as soon as the entertainment began. All in all, it was a disappointing stay, and we won't be back to VTF.
