Château De Rigny

The waiters were attentive and very professional. We also enjoyed the vast grounds and lovely pool. I stayed two nights with a friend, and our room was fantastic, very French, of course. The food was gorgeous, just as French as you’d expect, and breakfast was very, very good. A really lovely place to stay. Go for it, you won’t be disappointed.

We only spent one night at Chateau de Rigny while traveling between Switzerland and Belgium, but it left a big impression. The bill was surprisingly affordable compared with other hotels we’ve stayed in, and after a good night’s sleep we had breakfast in the winter garden, all glass facing the park. Before dinner, we had the house aperitif by a cozy fireplace in the main salon, among old books and hunting trophies. Dinner was in a grand room and felt fit for royalty. We chose the wild boar and scallops with a nice glass of local wine, and it’s no surprise the restaurant gets high ratings. If you want somewhere authentic rather than a bland, impersonal hotel, put Chateau de Rigny on your travel plans. The place is beautiful even in cold, drizzly weather, and you feel surrounded by centuries of history. This is a place of dreams. I fell deeply in love with it, and I can only imagine how out of this world it must be in summer.

The owner is very friendly, as are the restaurant staff. There’s plenty to choose from on the menu and at breakfast. The chateau has a beautiful parc, a swimming pool and a 🎾 court. Well worth a detour.

The catering food and beverage crew were amazing, and the wedding was amazing too! The buildings are beautiful and full of history. The rooms are very dated, though. With some updates and repairs to a few fountains and features, this would be an amazing place to stay.
