Dinner and breakfast were the best part for us. The homemade meals were delicious, and while we ate, our hosts shared a few things about the camino. Thierry kept checking that everyone was happy. Valérie and Thierry had already made us feel welcome, kindly letting us in early when they spotted us sitting outside at midday, then showing us around and making sure we were comfortable. The rooms, toilets and showers are great, with plenty of room to wash and hang clothes. We enjoyed the bar and the good selection of things to have on the terrace in the evening, looking out at the lovely nature, and there’s a garden behind the house too. My friend and I arrived in Granges de Bigose on July 10, 2025, during our stay at our favorite gîte on Via Podiensis, yes, this one. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. We really recommend it, and hope to see you again sometime!

Charging pilgrims for water when they’re struggling in the heat on Camino Way is unbelievable, especially when the rooms are being promoted with jacuzzis. Do you really think about how scarce water is nowadays? And 3 eur for a basic can of Orangina too, that has to be a joke. This place doesn’t feel pilgrim-friendly, so maybe take down the statue out front.

The food was delicious and locally sourced, and the facilities looked beautiful and almost new. Our hosts were warm and ready to help, which made this our favorite stop on the Chemin Saint Jacques. We’d definitely recommend it.

The bar and restaurant have excellent local food and drink. The owners are friendly, helpful, and happy to share what they know about the area. It’s right on the GR65, with practical, nearly new facilities and different kinds of accommodation for pèlerins and other holidaymakers.
