Our waiter talked us through the menu, and the staff were very attentive. The setting is lovely too. We had a wonderful time, and I’d highly recommend this restaurant if you’re visiting Île de Ré.

We had a terrific meal right on the beachfront, and took a quick, sobering plunge in the sea afterwards. The local wine and cognac were a major plus. The mussels in sauce were particularly good, and I think the langoustines were the best I’ve tasted. Service was excellent, with wonderful food and very good advice.

The food was really good, beautifully presented, tasty, and prepared with care. The price felt fair apart from the drinks. Service was the problem: it took 50 minutes for the starters, then another 30-40 minutes for the mains. Dinner took 2,5+ hours, which I don’t think is okay. We arrived at 20:50 and left around 23:30, right after dessert. They also never checked whether we wanted more wine or anything else, so we had to ask each time.
