La Tour De L'horloge

The owners gave us such a warm welcome at their family-run hotel right in the heart of Rivesaltes. We slept well with our two-and-a-half-year-old son in a spacious, clean and comfortable room. Breakfast was generous, with fresh local products, and the church bells add to the village atmosphere. It’s excellent value for money, and I’d highly recommend it.

Room 2 is lovely, spacious, well decorated and has every comfort. The managers really look after you. We arrived late at reception in the evening, but the warm, smiling couple welcomed us anyway. You can tell they care about their work. A beautiful hotel in a charming town, and it’s become a must-visit in Catalan country!

The patio was a lovely spot to unwind after a hike, and the owners were always attentive to what we needed. They also gave us excellent route suggestions for hiking. It’s a very welcoming, quiet hotel. The clock only chimes between 7:00 AM and 10:00 PM, so don’t let that worry you. We didn’t have time to see everything, so we’ll have to come back.

We stayed for two nights, and the bed wasn’t made between them. For €135 a night, that felt like a bit much. The rooms are decent, and the hotel itself is nice. There’s no parking at the hotel. You have to look along the river around the village, at least 400 metres away, and hope you find a space. Also, the “superior” rooms have no air conditioning, while the standard ones do. One small complaint about the woman at reception, who I assume is the owner: she felt entitled to tell guests they wouldn’t need air conditioning when coming back from a night out with a blood alcohol level of 0.4%.
