We came as a large group, and everything was handled perfectly. It’s a modern hotel, with guest rooms upstairs on the first floor and no lift, though the staircase is wide. The rooms have good air conditioning, which we appreciated in the 28-32 degree heat. Staff were friendly and made us feel welcome, and even the guest toilets were nicely decorated. We had dinner here twice. Both meals were beautifully prepared, proper fine dining, and really delicious. The cabillaud with rice was so good I ate every last grain. The moist, crumbly gateau aux noix had a lovely flavour and aroma, unlike the dry, hard walnut cakes sold as souvenirs around the region. Breakfast was continental, and the croissants were divine. Great hotel and restaurant.

The hotel feels more modern, and while the rooms are small, they’re adequate. The bathroom and shower are exceptionally tiny, and some parts of the hotel look quite tired. I was surprised that the check-in staff spoke no English in such a touristy town, which made communication very difficult.

We dropped in by chance late one afternoon for a cold beer and felt very welcome. The staff were so nice that we came back that evening for pizza and a bottle of wine. The service was warm, the pizza was very good, and the wine was reasonably priced.

We had a pleasant night and slept well, until lawn mowing started at 7:30 in the morning and woke us up abruptly. The room was clean and nicely furnished, though the bathroom was tiny. The pool isn’t heated, but it was refreshing in the afternoon sunshine. We ate at the restaurant, which serves simple bistro-style food, and the view from the terrace is excellent.

We were so disappointed. The service was average, the food was terrible, and the atmosphere was hideous. It wasn’t cheap, either. Honestly, one of the worst meals I’ve ever had, and I wouldn’t recommend eating here.
