The best part was the room. It had been refurbished with wooden floors, a newly redone bathroom, and a large king-size bed that was incredibly comfortable. I slept well, and the room was genuinely nice, with windows you could open. The bed was good, which mattered most to me, but the rest of the stay felt depressing. I spent more than a week there for a mix of work and leisure. Then I got sick and spent a full weekend in bed, and I was also caught up in the strikes in France. The room itself was fine, but outside it, the hotel felt completely outdated. Even the reception desk was no less than 80 cm. The lobby seating was cramped between the door and something like a library, and it was uncomfortable and noisy. There was no restaurant. The food on offer was unbelievably expensive, prepared meals displayed in nice glass jars. Starters were okay, but the main courses were terrible, and I skipped dessert. Breakfast was just the regular hotel kind, okay, nothing to say about it. I believe this hotel is a franchise and not allowed, managed by ACCOR Group, which would explain everything I mentioned. I don't think these problems come from the staff or anything else, but from the owner and the money she doesn't want to put into refurbishing the place.

A decent place to stay, well situated for exploring Rochfort. Our room was small but fine for one night, and breakfast was good. It was an extremely hot night, and although the room had air conditioning, it struggled to cool things down.

The day after paying my bill, I had to call the hotel and ask them to resend the invoice. I'd asked the receptionist to email it when I checked out, but it never arrived.

The hotel was clean, and the staff were friendly and efficient. There are quite a few interesting things to do and see nearby.
