The building is beautiful and new, right beside the harbour, and the people are friendly and helpful. There’s a nice garage for good cars. But the kitchen equipment isn’t very good, you hear your neighbours too much, and the wifi is very bad. The rubbish at -1 makes the lift smell. Fix those things and the price would be good.

The accommodation was clean and well equipped, with a comfortable bed and large bathroom towels. The setting is lovely and the location is good, and the staff gave us a friendly welcome. The one downside was the lack of soundproofing; I could feel drafts. I’d come back, but at a different time of year.

Our clients were delighted with the Arsenal Royal residence, and so were we. We were lucky enough to stay there while leading a cooking class for one of our clients. The venue was immaculate, and Stéphane welcomed us warmly. Everything matched what we’d been told in advance. We’d be happy to return with future corporate groups, individuals or hen parties. I noticed a lot of day-to-day constraints during a five-day seminar at this apartment hotel. There was no 5g or 4g network, so wifi from the residence was mandatory inside. We had a ground-floor T4 facing the street, with two bathrooms, but there was no way to ventilate without being away. Tilt-and-turn windows aren’t possible because it’s a heritage monument and the windows have to be wooden. One bathroom had no outside opening and a strong damp smell. There was no inventory at arrival or departure, and the family who stayed before us had damaged the bedroom Venetian blinds, which hadn’t been replaced. The residence is secured with a badge at every door, but we only got one badge for three people. We were told the previous tenants had lost the others. Yet a door leading outside didn’t lock at all and was left open to possible malicious intrusion. The setting is nicely restored, and the location is good, but I don’t recommend it. The furnished accommodation is a labyrinth. The original buildings have been preserved, though the stairs and half elevators are tedious to use. Accessibility for people with reduced mobility seemed complicated, at least in the part we occupied, building F.
