I enjoyed my stay, though I wish the rooms were better soundproofed.

Breakfast was okay, and when there was a small problem with the hot water, it was fixed very quickly. The bed was extremely comfortable and the area very quiet, with no noise. For the price, the value was excellent.

We paid €8.5 per person for breakfast at the hotel because there was nowhere to eat nearby. It was a poor breakfast, with few options, and everything seemed rather old. The hotel is far from the city, so getting there means a 20-minute bus ride and then a 10-minute metro ride. The website photos didn’t match the actual place. It’s old, the rooms are tiny, and the shower is so cramped it’s hard to shower properly. The corridors smelled of cigarettes, so it seemed people were smoking in the rooms. There’s no lift either, and with our many suitcases on the third floor, we had a lot of stairs to climb. I wouldn’t recommend it for a family. My wife, daughter and I had been travelling around Europe for 20 days, staying in several ibis hotels, including in the UK. The other stays were wonderful, with really good and helpful customer service. We didn’t feel welcome or comfortable at Ibis Budget Rochin in Lille, and the stay was horrible. We couldn’t wait for it to end. One receptionist from Morocco was really nice, but the others seemed not to want us there. We expected more from an Accor hotel after our good experiences elsewhere, and in our opinion this place should be closed. Since we’re ALL members, we contacted them to ask for help moving to another hotel. They said there was nothing they could do, but that they would raise it with the hotel staff. Nobody spoke to us afterward. What’s the point of being a member? I thought membership meant loyalty and that they’d take your feedback into account, but it seems ALL membership is just for getting a discount through a website that isn’t even accurate.

The bed was very clean and nicely made, though the pillows weren’t great, maybe a 3/5. The interior was clean but quite worn out. The sound insulation failed badly: you could hear everything in the corridor and most sounds from the other rooms.
