We enjoyed dinner here so much that we came back the next evening. Chef Helmut's jambonneau was moist, full of flavor, and went beautifully with the Munster cheese. The baeckoff was delicious too, and after a week in Alsace, these were the best tarte flambees we'd tried. We also loved the creme brulee. It's an authentic place for delicious Alsatian food, but the lively, personal service made the meal even better. Among all the busy villages, Chez Helmut was where we ate best. It fills up quickly, so make a reservation.

The meal was good, but the people and service really made the evening. One of the guests played his accordion for everyone and sang popular songs. It was a lot of fun, and the five stars are well deserved.

There was a great atmosphere, good food, and a VERY friendly host. It wasn't a quiet dinner, folks! Book ahead, because even on a Tuesday night the place was full. Loved it.
