Hôtel Brittany & Spa

We had a beautiful room with outstanding views, and it was a lovely walk into town. Dinner at the Michelin-starred restaurant was unforgettable, with exceptional food and wine pairings. Thank you for a wonderful stay in July!

The staff were adorable and very accommodating, but the room was tiny and looked out over the parking lot. The bathrooms smelled, with exposed drains covered up by cheap products, and the sink water wouldn’t drain. There was mould on the walls, chipped paint in the bedrooms, and the old sheets smelled and were stained. The whole place felt really, really outdated. I was shocked it hadn’t been updated.

The bar has a great view, and the food is delicious. The rooms were nice and the staff attentive. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

The food and beverage manager was amazing, going above and beyond, and deserves five stars time and again. The rest of the experience left me very disappointed. I travel all over the world, and the service here was nothing special. I’m also used to Relais hotels contacting guests ahead of time to warn them that bookings fill up. Nobody reached out, even though it was a French bank holiday, and I have no emails from them. After a challenging trip with more than 48 hours of delays, I was looking forward to my stay, only to find I couldn’t get reservations at the restaurant or spa. I would absolutely have canceled if I’d known. When I asked, there seemed to be as many outside guests as hotel guests, which made me feel the hotel didn’t value its own guests. I booked this specifically because I love Relais hotels, so the money felt wasted and it left me with a bad taste about Brittany. I was also shocked when staff came straight into my room despite a sign on the door, without apologizing. And there was no coffee machine in the room, something I haven’t encountered before despite traveling weekly. At check-in, I said I would have canceled if I couldn’t eat at the restaurant. They persuaded me to stay, saying I could have the same menu at the bar the next night, but that wasn’t true. I got the bar menu, not the experience I’d expected, and felt deceived. I wish I’d canceled after all, once they had been upfront with me. I’d never stay here again. The front desk staff are extremely rude.
